Business Development Leader – Eastern Iowa

Location:

Not a sit-and-wait sales role. Go build it.
Salary + Commission: $125K+- $150k+ | Full-Time | Outside Sales | Territory Ownership

This isn’t a “manage a few accounts and call it a day” kind of role.

You’re out in the field prospecting, building relationships, and growing business across Eastern Iowa. You’re the one opening doors, finding opportunities, and turning them into long-term customers.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’re responsible for growing the business plain and simple.

• Prospect new customers across food, dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical, OEM, and reseller markets
• Grow existing accounts by identifying new opportunities and expanding relationships
• Make consistent, in-person visits to plants and customer facilities
• Sell across CSI’s core offerings: pumps, valves, heat exchangers, tubing, service, and fabrication
• Follow up on leads quickly and consistently no missed opportunities
• Track all activity, pipeline, and customer interactions in CRM
• Stay on top of active projects, quotes, and long-term opportunities
• Identify underserved areas and bring new business into the territory

This is a daily activity role calls, visits, follow-ups, and pipeline management. The effort you put in shows up in your results.

• Partner with inside sales, project managers, and estimators to close business
• Work with marketing and leadership to align on strategy and market approach
• Leverage CSI’s products, services, and technical expertise to solve real customer problems
• Share market feedback and help shape how we grow in the region

What You Bring

• Experience in outside sales (industrial, process equipment, or similar preferred)
• Ability to build relationships and earn trust with customers
• Strong follow-up habits and consistent communication
• Self-motivated you don’t need someone checking in on you every hour
• Comfort managing a territory, pipeline, and sales goals
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM tools
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly

The Reality of the Role

• You’ll be on the road this is a field-based position
• Regular customer visits and prospecting are expected
• Overnight travel will be part of the job
• This isn’t a clock-in/clock-out role performance matters
• You’re responsible for staying organized and driving your results

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

This is a field-based role requiring regular travel to customer locations. Work includes time in industrial and manufacturing environments, along with computer use for communication, reporting, and CRM updates.

Light physical activity such as standing, bending, and lifting up to 30 pounds may be required.
