Accounting Intern

Location: Springfield, MO

This position will assist the accounting department with various accounting and general office administration duties.

Primary Functions
• Provide support and back up duties for other accounting positions
• Download and index freight invoices
• Assist with receipt history report and supplier statements – calling suppliers for missing invoices
• Review open DMRs and call suppliers for credit memos
• Backup for submitting invoices on customer portals
• Monitor held order dashboard and release orders as necessary
• Check credit references for new customer accounts
• Backup for posting check deposit
• Send Daily Remote Deposit
• Take deposit to bank as needed
• Assist with sales tax registrations in new states
• Scan and index supplier invoices for accounts payable clerk – daily
• Complete special projects as assigned

• Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance.

Salary: $16 per hour

Position Requirements:

Education/Training:

  • Currently enrolled to complete degree in Accounting

Experience:

  • Problem analysis and resolution skills; required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; written and
  • verbal; required
  • Good telephone etiquette; required
  • Extensive computer experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and
  • PowerPoint; required
  • Attention to detail; required
  • Excellent 10-key skills; required
  • Team player; required

Dissemination of all confidential information pertaining to applicant and employee data, as well CSI financial information is prohibited. All requests for information pertaining to the above items will be referred to Human Resources or the Director of Finance.
Standard workweek will be 20 hours. The Director of Finance should be advised of the expected schedule at least one week in advance of change in availability.
This position requires the ability to interact with employees verbally and in writing, remain in a stationary position for 80% of the workday, have close visual acuity, and constantly operate a computer and other office productivity equipment, such as a phone, copy/fax/scan machine, computer keyboard and mouse with or without reasonable accommodation. This position also requires the ability to occasionally lift, stoop, bend, and lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
