QMS Manager

Job Description:

CSI is looking for a QMS Manager!

Position Summary: This Corporate Quality Manger is responsible for the creation, management, and maintenance of the CSI Quality Management System (QMS) ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. This role requires a disciplined individual with a strong commitment to QMS best practices, demonstrating initiative and persistence in developing innovative solutions to enhance product and process quality. This role is critical in driving continuous improvement and fostering a company-wide culture of quality.

In this position, the Corporate Quality Manager must balance multiple responsibilities, particularly in high-pressure situations, while continuing to fulfill core quality management duties. The ideal candidate must have a high degree of emotional intelligence and excellent communication skills. This role is critical in driving continuous improvement, fostering a company-wide culture of quality, and training CSI staff in quality-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Quality Leadership – Develop and execute long-term quality strategies aligned with company objectives to drive operational excellence.
  • Supplier Quality Management – Oversee supplier audits, evaluate vendor performance, and implement supplier quality improvement programs to ensure compliance with CSI standards.
  • Regulatory and Compliance Oversight – Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory standards, staying ahead of evolving requirements and industry best practices.
  • Data-Driven Quality Management – Utilize KPIs, statistical analysis, and quality metrics to monitor performance trends, identify risks, and drive data-based decision-making.
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives – Understand Lean, Six Sigma , or Kaizen and use appropriate concepts to enhance quality, efficiency, and cost reduction across operations.
  • Customer Complaint & Issue Resolution – Manage customer quality complaints, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Internal & External Audits – Lead internal audits and prepare for third-party and regulatory inspections, ensuring adherence to compliance requirements and audit readiness.
  • Standardization & Documentation – Ensure consistent process documentation, SOPs, and training materials to maintain a well-structured QMS across all departments and locations.
  • Training & Quality Culture Development – Develop and lead training programs to educate employees at all levels on quality best practices, compliance requirements, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Risk Management – Identify and mitigate risks related to product quality, production processes, and regulatory non-compliance.

Primary Functions
Quality Assurance

  • Maintain a comprehensive Quality program to ensure compliance with applicable guidelines pertinent to the industries served by CSI
  • Maintain / update the Quality System Manual. Create new procedures as needed to support Quality, customer requirements, and vendor management
  • Maintain current revisions of procedures and forms as required by QMS
  • Establish and maintain good document controls and quality system structure
  • Review non-conformance reports to identify and solve associated problem
  • Review corrective and preventative action reports to ensure the team has identified the problem is correctly and appropriate action is taken
  • Oversee Vendor Quality Management to ensure vendors are competent and meet quality standards of CSI
  • Work closely with CSI MFG Quality Control Coordinator to establish and maintain foundations of CSI Quality System

Interdepartmental Mentoring/Team Leader

  • Teach the appropriate disciplined standards that will demonstrate CSI expertise in our industry, resulting in customers exuding confidence in CSI
  • Train CSI staff in Quality related topics to fulfill more daily objectives within their department
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills required, including active listening, questioning, and leading
  • Assist all CSI staff in representing CSI Quality

Process Improvement

  • Establish quality system that ensures overall product integrity and consistent product performance
  • Interface and facilitate operating procedures and quality standards for raw material suppliers / sub-contracted manufacturing vendors linked to the product development process
  • Generate and dictate the appropriate process control procedures associated with all standard products developed and/or offered
  • Review and implement secondary industry standards (i.e. ASME, CRN, PED, 3A & BPE) into the product development process
  • Convey and interface strategies to increase market share as it supports product development
  • Analyze and evaluate potential service strategies including “new” product lines or programs that could be potential areas to increase our company sales with respect to our product offerings

Ongoing Training/Education

  • Continuing education to ensure latest available technology, codes, standards are known.
  • Mentor and consult with co-workers and industry peers to increase the shared knowledge that is within the industry we serve

Position Requirements:

Education/Training:

  • Associates Degree, preferred
  • Bachelors Degree, preferred

Experience:

  • Sanitary Process Piping experience, required
  • 5 + years of manufacturing experience
  • 2 + years of experience inspecting process piping and components
  • Process Control Procedures / Document Control (GDP) experience
  • Microsoft Explorer (proficient)
  • Microsoft Excel (proficient)
  • Microsoft Word (proficient)
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical Equipment manufacturing
  • Knowledge of ASME Section IX welding qualification
  • Knowledge of manufacturing procedures and processes

Standard workday is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. More than 40 hours per week may be required in order to achieve the productivity necessary for this position. Overnight travel, Saturday, Sunday and holiday hours may be required. Travel via plane or vehicle may also be required.
