Product Manager - Heat Exchangers

Location: Springfield, MO

CSI is looking for a Product Manager - Heat Exchangers.

The Product Manager – Heat Exchangers is responsible for growing CSI’s heat exchanger and heat transfer program. The product manager is responsible for growing customer relationships, both internal and external. This role must establish and maintain effective relationships and communication with all CSI employees. They will manage CSI’s heat exchanger portfolio, speak into the product mix, work with leadership on pricing strategy, provide technical & service support, and be responsible the categories’ system & data integrity. Understanding and perpetuation of the overall company vision is critical to success in this role. Detailed and additional responsibilities can be found in the following sections.

Salary: $120K - $160K annually

Some of the core activities this role is responsible for are:

  • Portfolio Management
  • Responsible for developing and providing a pricing strategy to CSI Leadership
  • Provide technical & service support for multiple departments at CSI, including but not limited to: sales, engineering, project management and customer service.
  • Understand and create a plan of CSI requirements to be competitive in this space.
  • Drive and help contribute accurate data to CSI systems

  • Technical & Application Knowledge
  • Responsible for ultimately creating CSI's heat transfer value proposition.

Primary Functions

  • Contribute to overall vision of increased sales through accountability and relationship management (daily)
  • Learn customer and market characteristics, specifically large installation and design firms, to determine which Mixing and blending products have the greatest potential (ongoing)
  • Coordinate the involvement of CSI personnel, including support, service, and management resources, in order to meet performance objectives and customer expectations (daily)
  • Meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in target accounts
  • Proactively identify, question, and suggest changes to standard procedures. (ongoing)
  • Make systematic and efficient sales visits to customers and prospects at their plant and corporate locations (ongoing)
  • Formulate, write and implement a business plan stating goals and sales strategies to achieve those goals (quarterly)
  • Develop rapport with and delegate appropriate tasks to assigned inside sales representatives, customer service, technical consultants, project managers, and estimators (ongoing)
  • Respond to customer requests for information (daily)
  • Enter notes in CRM, per procedure, to document all completed and scheduled activities (daily)
  • Understand and follow established procedures for sales, project management, purchasing, and returns (daily)
  • Submit pipeline and activity reports per procedure (ongoing)
  • Communicate strategic plan and progress to Director Business Development (monthly)
  • Maintain major projects list showing jobs being pursued and their status. E-mail to president, VP Sales, design supervisor and production manager (weekly/end of week)
  • Work with marketing director to formulate appropriate marketing strategies to assist the team in achieving its goals (quarterly)

Required Skills:

Education/Training:

  • BS degree, industrial technology or engineering emphasis, preferred

Required Experience:

Experience:

  • Equipment sales experience in food and/or pharmaceutical industries
  • Exposure to estimating design and application of process equipment
  • Experience with sales management
  • Proficiency in computer OS and MS office suite

Other

  • Valid driver's license
  • Clean driving record
  • Valid Passport

Standard workday is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. More than 40 hours per week will normally be required in order to achieve the productivity necessary for this position. Overnight travel, Saturday, Sunday and holiday hours will be required. Travel via plane or vehicle may also be required.

This position requires the ability to interact with employees verbally and in writing, remain in a stationary position for 80% of the workday, have close visual acuity, and constantly operate a computer and other office productivity equipment, such as a phone, copy/fax/scan machine, computer keyboard and mouse with or without reasonable accommodation. This position also requires the ability to occasionally lift, stoop, bend, and lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
